Science shows that natural and working lands - forests, rangelands, agricultural lands, wetlands and urban green spaces - can play a key role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. These nature-based solutions (NBS) can achieve nearly one-third of greenhouse gas (GHG) reductions needed to meet the global Paris climate commitment.
China and the US, two of the world’s largest economies, are among the national and subnational leaders taking significant steps to address climate change with a strong interest in mobilizing NBS to support their climate goals.
The California-China Climate Institute and The Nature Conservancy held a discussion to hear about some of the ways that California and China may use nature-based climate solutions to meet their climate goals.
